By the waterfront at Gasworks Park,
Ours are the only voices.
As we stare across the water,
We feel fortunate and proud
To behold such a beautiful, panoramic view of Seattle.
Here
This relative silence is such a relief
From the cacophony of the street,
From the corrosive commotion
Of Capitol Hill.
At last, we can enjoy each other’s presence
As we inhale the salty air.
Near midnight, we return to where we parked
My CR-V just through the trees.
We laugh and reminisce about high school
As we drive back to your dorm building.
Our arms wave carelessly
Out the windows,
Blown lightly
By the wind.
Thom's pick: Slowdive feels just as current and engaging as ever on this one, maybe just as timeless as Souvlaki. From start to finish, it's an absolute soundbath: warm, lush and soaked in melancholy. Damper
Chris' pick: This was a huge return for Crime in Stereo after a 13 year break. Glitchy soundscaping, catchy vocal hooks and attention to detail make this album a fully cohesive listening experience. Damper
Phil's pick: I've had this album on nonstop since it came out. Nick DePirro's guitar is truly incredible and Aric Improta makes excellent use of space as he weaves together layers of rhythm on drums. Damper

At that time, I was discovering many kinds of Asian shoegaze, but I've never heard anything like this. Makes me think of Pasteboard, Supecar, and Midnight Pingpong a bit, and it's funny bc the first two I listen have blue album covers too. Lu
